I wonder if Steve Phillips has reflected on what has taken place in his life over the past month. He lost his job and his family, both of which- when it’s all said and done, will cost him millions of dollars. I don’t know, Steve....based on the picture I saw on the Internet, of that thing you fooled around with, sliding into an ESPN bathroom with a bottle of lotion and a copy of National Geographic’s Whale Week issue, might have been a better option. But thats just me.
Dan Snyder’s apology this week was the equivalent of former Manson Family member, and now dead piece of shit Susan Atkins, begging the California penal system to release her to her family, so that she could’ve died at home surrounded by loved ones. Too little, too late. Until Snyder starts taking action, and deconstructing the team he and butt boy Vinny have assembled, the Redskin locker room is a helter skelter, and I want no part of it.
On a more serious note, ESPN’s 30/30 documentary on Len Bias, was a sad reminder about how a person can be on top of the world one minute, and gone the next.
Recently released from prison, and most likely loose, stool flinger Tim Donaghy, has become the Jose Canseco of the NBA. I think dress code enforcer David Stern might want to step up to the mike already, and at least address the serious allegations made in Donaghy’s book.
When asked about what he would do if one of his players were to be involved in a domestic dispute with a female, University of Florida Football coach Urban Meyer said, “Well for starters, was it a case of the girlfriend not listening? That’s a huge factor in itself. And secondly, any punishment I would impose on the young man, would be determined on whom we were playing that week. But most likely, I would take away his i-Pod during on field pre game warm ups.”
7-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning is not how I wanted to spend my Wednesday night.
